Plug & play or 32A hot tub — what's the difference?
Plug & play tubs run from a standard 13A socket: no electrician needed, but slower heating and the jets pause while heating. 32A models need a dedicated circuit installed by an electrician and heat faster while running everything at once. The listing states which; factor an electrician into a 32A price.
How much does a hot tub cost to run?
Well-insulated tubs typically cost £40–80 a month in a UK winter at recent electricity prices; poorly insulated ones can double that. Insulation spec and a good cover matter more than heater size — running cost claims in listings assume the cover is on whenever the tub is idle.
Do garden saunas need planning permission?
Usually not: most outdoor saunas fall under permitted development like other garden buildings — single storey, under 2.5m within 2m of a boundary. Wood-fired stoves may have flue and distance requirements; electric heaters need a suitably rated circuit installed by an electrician.
