Steam & Oak is the first UK retail partner for FinSteam. A 4 × 4 m octagonal sauna that seats up to 12 — and up to 14 when you need it. Two FinSteam 8.1 kW gas heaters bring it up to full heat in minutes and hold temperature through constant door-opening and back-to-back sessions. No fire to tend, no ash, no chimney, no electrician. For mobile-sauna hire, spas, retreats, festivals and glamping sites. Choose your heater The Dome takes two 8.1 kW gas heaters, and you pick which pair goes in: Botnia (£6,295) — the workhorse. Same 8.1 kW output, same built-in safety, simple manual control. The value choice for operators who run set sessions. Aurora (£6,995) — adds an integrated 60-minute safety timer to each heater (auto shut-off). Worth it in a busy public sauna where the heater runs unattended between guests. Our recommended commercial spec. Everything else in the package is identical — same tent, benches, safety kit and warranty. Why operators choose gas Ready in minutes, holds heat all day — gas heats directly, so it keeps up with a busy door. Up to 12 guests per session — real throughput from a single setup. No fire, ash, chimney or mains power — a two-person team can run it all day. Optional twin 60-minute safety timers (Aurora variant) auto shut-off — reassurance in a busy public sauna. 12-month warranty valid for commercial use. Built-in safety — oxygen-depletion cut-off, flame supervision and piezo ignition on both heaters. Bottles stay outside; only the hoses enter. Honest operator notes: the Dome runs two propane bottles, needs mandatory ventilation sized for a full house, and wants roughly 5 × 5 m of clear, level ground. Follow the included commercial guidance. A FinSteam gas heater is flueless and heats directly: it burns gas cleanly and puts the hot air and water vapour straight into the cabin, while the stones still heat for löyly. Nothing is stored first, nothing is lost up a chimney — so it's ready in about 15 minutes, on a dial. It also carries a soft, natural humidity from the moment it lights. Full explainer: how a gas sauna heater works. Weighing up fuels? Wood-fired vs gas vs electric. No electrician. No chimney. Off-grid. It runs on standard propane bottles, so there's no electrician, no dedicated circuit and no Part P sign-off. No chimney means no smoke and no problem in a smoke-control area. Propane keeps working through a British winter — a genuine year-round commercial asset. Running cost is about £2-£3 a session per heater - nearer £3 on a portable 6 kg gas bottle, or £2-£2.50 on an economy 13 kg bottle. That's roughly level with an electric sauna: you choose gas for what it removes - the electrician, the wiring and the wait - not to cut your energy bill. The safety engineering Gas in an enclosed space deserves serious engineering. Every FinSteam heater has an Oxygen Depletion Sensor (ODS) that shuts the gas off automatically if oxygen drops too low, flame supervision that cuts the gas the instant the flame is lost, and push-button piezo ignition. The cylinder always stays outside — only the hose enters — and correct ventilation is part of every install. EU type-examination certified under the Gas Appliance Regulation (2016/426). Choose the Aurora variant and each heater adds a 60-minute auto shut-off — especially reassu
