Steam & Oak is the first UK retail partner for FinSteam. Reduce the clearance to combustible timber The FinSteam Njord is a non-combustible heat shield designed to sit between the FinSteam gas sauna heater (Botnia 81 or Aurora 81) and the timber walls of your sauna. Fitting it cuts the required clearance to combustible timber right down, from 200 mm to just 50 mm on the sides. On the tightest barrel or cube saunas that can be the difference between the heater fitting comfortably — and not fitting at all. When you need it Installing a Botnia 81 or Aurora 81 into a small barrel or cube sauna where the standard 200 mm side clearance is tight. Building a fixed cabin install and you want the safety margin without compromising on internal space. Commercial or hire-business use — Gas Safe engineers will expect to see the Njord (or equivalent fire-board) on any fixed install. Included as standard with all FinSteam S safety-pack variants (R11S, R14S) — buy standalone if you started with R11 / R14 and want to upgrade.
