Is polycarbonate better than glass for a greenhouse?
Twin-wall polycarbonate insulates roughly twice as well as single glass, diffuses light (fewer scorched seedlings) and won't shatter. Glass wins on clarity, scratch resistance and staying put in high wind if properly clipped — polycarbonate panels need good fixings.
How long does polycarbonate glazing last?
UV-stabilised panels typically carry a 10-year guarantee against yellowing and last comfortably beyond it. Cheap unstabilised sheet clouds within a few summers — check the listing states UV protection.
