Measure the pole or track width (not the window) and choose curtains 1.5–2× that width for proper gather; for length, decide between sill (1–2cm above), below-sill (~15cm below) or floor length (1cm above the floor). Sizes are quoted width × drop per curtain.

Are blackout curtains really blackout?

'Blackout' usually means a coated or triple-woven lining that blocks most light through the fabric — light still leaks around the edges unless the pole overhangs the window generously or you fit a pelmet. 'Dimout' or 'thermal' linings block less.

Eyelet, pencil pleat or tab top — what's the difference?
